Sensei David Hurst

I started my karate Journey in 1991 At Newark SKC. I quickly progressed and all of my Kyu grades were conducted by Sensei Bob Rhodes. I Gained my 1st Dan in 1994 and my 2nd Dan in 1997 under Sensei Enoeda.

I started entering karate competitions. I particularly enjoyed Kumite and had good success at Local, Regional and National level. During this period I was selected by Sensei Frank Brennan to be part of the Central Region Kumite Squad.

I took a short break from training (18 Years) as I settled into married life and started to raise a beautiful family. Years later I realised how much I missed my Karate and decided to return. I gained my 3rd Dan in 2021.

Karate has given me lifelong friends from all walks of life and many happy memories. I now enjoy both training & helping to teach others with the hope it gives them the enjoyment and a sense of achievement it has given me.
